The story behind the name
& logo:

Spanner Construction's name and logo carry special meaning, connecting back over 100 years to Graham's great-great-grandfather, who founded Spanner Products Limited in 1920. By the 1950s, Graham's grandfather and great-uncles were manufacturing his great-uncle Russel Spanner's iconic mid-century modern furniture line, "Ruspan Originals."

Russel Spanner was also a strong, large amateur wrestler, and he tested the durability of his furniture the way you'd expect a wrestler to: by jumping on them and throwing them across the factory floor.

Although you won't find him throwing anything across a job site, that same standard of building things to last, and building things right, is what Graham carries into every project at Spanner Construction. When Graham started the business, he wasn't just starting something new. He was picking up a legacy of craftsmanship that's been in his family for a century. The name Spanner, which appears on the logo and is at the heart of the business, is a reminder of the standard he's building to, and the family that came before him.
